A new, pizza spot in downtown Minneapolis, Mezzo Mezzo is located across from Target Center. This is our first experience with roman-style pizzas, which have a house-made focaccia crust, and served in whole squares to cut. If you enjoy flaky, fluffy crusts, this my be the place for you! Read on for our opinions and ratings.

Pro tip: The pizzas are served al taglio, which means they need to be cut into slices by you. You'll be given a pair of scissors, so you can cut out whatever pizza shapes you desire!

Savory Potato & Herbs- 3.8 / 5

Toppings: Yukon Gold potatoes and mozzarella, scented with fresh rosemary and thyme

Highlights: well seasoned potatoes

Lowlights: potato texture can be hit or miss, should have had more potatoes as those are what balances the pizza's other ingredients

Fennel Sausage & Blueberry- 3.8 / 5

Toppings: Pork sausage & pickled blueberries, fontina cheese, fennel pollen, and bright citrus zest

Highlights: pickled blueberries tone down the sweet sugars, sausage stands out

Lowlights: blueberries not for everyone

The Inferno- 3.7 / 5

Toppings: Spicy cured Italian pork and red sauce ignited with Calabrian chilies, black pepper, pecorino cheese and fresh flat-leaf parsley

Highlights: heat is present

Lowlights: light on meat and cheese

Azzurro Porco- 3.6 / 5

Toppings: Prosciutto, blue cheese, and sliced pear, finished with arugula, roasted walnuts and a drizzle of spiced honey

Lowlights: pear seems to be missing, and should be missing
